A third Hi-Torque Power Pusher has been delivered to Pirelli Cables site in Wrexham to move large cable drums.

Power Pusher, from Nu-Star Material Handling, is a pedestrian operated, battery powered tug unit that can push rolling loads of up to 40 000kg.

Measuring 1.4m long and 670mm wide, it is highly manoeuvrable and completely self contained, with no trailing wires or air lines. As well as improving shop floor productivity, it reduces the likelihood of back injuries associated with the manual pushing/pulling of loads.

For this particular application, it is fitted with a bespoke roller attachment (adjustable to cater for different diameter drums). This enables the operator to push up against the drum flange in order to roll the drum on the shopfloor.
