Hoist handles long load December 1st 2007 An air operated hoist from
J D Neuhaus has been used
for the safe handling of an
assembled pipeline string of
some 1000m in length. This
involved the connection of
individual pipeline sections,
each 8m long, to create a
string weighing 30t which
had to be positioned within
a mining shaft.
This was accomplished
using a JDN Profi 37 Ti
hoist, part of a series with
load capacities ranging from
250kg to 100t. These Ex
rated products ensure the
highest levels of safety for
operating in potentially
explosive or other
dangerous atmospheres
which can occur in mining,
on and offshore oil
industries, armaments
plants, paint production,
sawmills, foundries, etc.
The hoists are compact
and flexible, offering good
weight:load ratios, with the
Profi 37 Ti having an all-up
weight of 880kg (with a
standard 10m chain length)
while offering a 37.5t lifting
capacity. Elimination of any
electrical power supply for
drive mechanisms or
ancillary equipment
eliminates the potential for
ignition risk, while increased
spark-protection ensures the
highest ATEX ratings for
hazardous area operation. More articles from J.D.Neuhaus Limited: |
