Lightening the load

At Office Depot’s new site in Aston Under Lyne, a telescopic boom conveyor from Caljan Rite-Hite is used for unloading vehicles carrying office chairs.

The Man Rider unit has a platform that is used by one or two operators. Easyto- operate due to its ergonomic design, the machine has cut unloading time by up to 50%.

The company has also invested in a telescopic unloader and five telescopic loaders with rotary bearings for 180° movement, enabling one telescopic loader to service more than one loading dock.

Bernd Schiel, project manager, says “The loaders and unloaders provide a much safer environment for our people operating in the dispatch and receiving area, and maintain the required flexibility.
