TUG UNIT PROVIDES TROLLEY SERVICE
December 1st 2004

HM Prison Winchester has taken delivery of its second Nu-Star PowerTug to help move a heated food trolley.

The weight and size of the laden trolley, combined with the route that had to be taken, was causing a manual handling issue that required some sort of mechanical assistance to prevent risk of injury.

Nu-Star designed and manufactured a bespoke attachment for its PowerTug that enables it to connect to the chassis of the food trolley and be moved easily by a single operator.

The self-contained electric tug unit is specifically designed to eliminate the manual handling risks associated with moving rolling loads to 2t. Maintenancefree gel batteries provide the power.
