Designed for Rolls April 1st 2006 Arrowhive Equipment has supplied a customconfigured materials handling system to a manufacturer of tapes and decorative products in Glasgow.
The company had been slitting large parent reels of an expensive substrate into smaller, more marketable secondary rolls which were then - using an unloader - turned 90° onto pallets.
Its former processes were considered inefficient and carried with them the risk of operator injury and product damage.
To improve the process, a Schlumpf ERH-500-PT-S (portable reel lifter/turner) was supplied with a customised mandrel and special reel end support.
This enables the handling system to remove the reels directly from the unloader. More articles from Arrowhive Equipment Ltd: |
