Little effort necessary
October 1st 2004

M-real, producer of fine paper, has bought two Nu- Star Reel Pushers for its Sittingbourne Paper Mill.

They are used to move 1.3m diameter paper reels (weighing up to 3t) from paper winder to an automated floor track or a temporary holding area. Mreal trialled the device earlier in the year after staff had commented about the effort needed to push reels by hand.

The unit is pedestrian operated and self-contained, with no trailing air/power lines. Power is provided by sealed, maintenance-free traction batteries. An onboard charger means the unit can be charged from any suitable 110 or 220V power source.
