Pushes and pulls loads
August 1st 2005 Woodward, a supplier of elastomeric roller coverings, uses a Nu-Star Super Pusher to push and pull its roll handling bogies.
Paper and industrial rolls need to be manoeuvred into and out of a shot-blasting chamber, vulcanising ovens and extrusion processes.
Loads can weigh up to 55t.
Ian Stirling, systems manager, says “The Super Pusher enables one operator to easily move the bogies between workstations and is much safer than trying to do this by hand or trying to use a forktruck as a towing vehicle.” The unit is the biggest load mover in the Nu-Star range of pedestrianoperated electric tug units that can move wheeled loads ranging from 500 to more than 100 000kg.
