Pushing safety forward
April 1st 2007

At B. W Industries' site in East Yorkshire, two Nu-Star Power Pushers are used to manoeuvre rolled steel sections from point of production to despatch.

The company manufactures steel components for the construction and engineering sectors.

After seeing several Power Pushers in use at a customer's site, B W Industries contacted Nu-Star and requested a site visit to assess the likely benefits from installing Power Pushers to move trolleys around the plant to eliminate the risks of manual handling.

Trolleys transport steel components with weights between 1000 and 6500kg.

In addition to the manual handling risks, moving them by hand was both labour intensive and time consuming.
