Acushnet plays safe with Cobamat
December 1st 2008 Golf equipment manufacturer,
Acushnet Europe, has recently
installed a substantial
quantity of Cobamat Inter
safety matting from COBA at
its UK manufacturing and
warehousing facility in St Ives.
One of the largest
manufacturers of golf
equipment in the world,
Acushnet is synonymous with
brands including Titleist,
FootJoy and Cobra, employing
some 400 people in the UK
alone.
Cobamat Inter is one of
many industrial safety matting
products from COBA Europe.
Manufactured from flexible
interwoven PVC extrusions,
Cobamat Inter not only
provides increased comfort
underfoot, but its cross grip
30 x 10mm open holed design
gives effective slip resistance
too.
The Cobamat at Acushnet
has predominantly been used
in the golf club assembly area,
with additional matting also
used in the warehouse. Any
swarf is captured in the open
holes of the mat to prevent
slipping on dry dust and
debris.
Most of the workstations
have been fitted with Cobamat
that has bright yellow bevelled
edging (factory-fitted) along
three sides for increased
safety awareness and to
minimise trip hazards. The
non-edged side allows the
matting to be placed flush
against the manufacturing
equipment.
Cobamat is available in
Light, Standard, Inter and
Heavy configurations in black,
blue, green and red, with
optional bevelled edging.
There are six standard sizes,
with custom sizes also
