Prevents drive-away
April 1st 2005

After a survey of anti-driveaway methods, supply chain management company, Wincanton, has adopted Castell’s Salvo system across its Gloucester site.

Once a trailer has been reversed up to the relevant bay, the shunter removes the emergency air line and fits the Salvo lock to the air line coupling. This action releases a specially coded Castell key from the end of the lock, that the shunter then inserts into an electrical switch next to the bay door.

Turning the key powers the bay, allowing the warehouse operative to raise the door and position the dock leveller, ready for loading or unloading to begin.
