Do you know your numbers?
June 1st 2010 The Blood Pressure Association is encouraging organisations to highlight their occupational health services by taking part in Know your Numbers! Week – the charity’s nationwide blood pressure testing event. Thousands of organisations, including national businesses, Primary Care Trusts, health clubs, pharmacies, community groups and local authorities, take part to offer free blood pressure checks in the community during the event.

All participants receive blood pressure Resource Packs containing expert information, leaflets, record cards and promotional materials.
Mike Rich, executive director of UK charity the Blood Pressure Association, said: “We know that workplace testing is a great way to reach those people who may not realise they are at risk of stroke or heart attack due to high blood pressure.”

• Attracting staff who may not usually have their blood pressure checked by their GP
• Identifying individuals with high blood pressure – early intervention can save lives and prevent potential poor health
