Half the weight with 46m reach
October 1st 2005

Facelift Access hire has recently taken delivery of two new Bronto 46XDT truck mounted platforms from Finnish manufacturer Bronto Skylift. A totally new model to the UK, the 46XDT has many features, which make it stand out from its predecessors.

With a working height of 46m and an outreach of 24m, mounted on an 18 tonne chassis the XDT is nearly half the weight of a conventional high reach platform. These factors, combined with a cage capacity of up to 600 Kg and an expanding cage as standard, make the XDT one of the most versatile machines there is.

Computer controlled operation provides the operator with the ability to narrow jack the machine (3m width) and still maintain full working height. Improved overreach has also been gained by an extra long fly boom allowing the XDT to reach up and over an obstacle which has proved to be difficult with most of the conventional machines currently available. With a price tag of £250 000 each the 46XDT's are a major new investment for facelift and are soon to be followed by a 52m version arriving in November.

Facelift's managing director Gordon Leicester has been involved closely with the development of the machine and is certain that it will create new opportunities and new markets for facelift's customers enabling them to profit even further from using powered access.
