Monitoring device keeps track of backs
February 1st 2008

To assist in the prevention of back injury in the workplace, BACK-TRACK has developed the BACK-TRACK System which it is launching at the IOSH exhibition.

A portable monitoring device which is attached to an operative's belt, the BACKTRACK continuously monitors their posture in relation to manual handling activities.

The device alerts the wearer via a vibration alert when they are stooping or if they adopt poor posture. At the end of the shift, the operative places the BACKTRACK unit in a recharging cradle and the recorded data is uploaded to BACK-TRACK's server via the internet.
