Vehicle survey: mixed results June 1st 2007 Latest results from the Total
Motion Vehicle Monitor
Survey (October 2006 to Mar
2007) show a reduction in
the number of company
vehicles found to be unroadworthy
(-2%) or inadequately
maintained (-5%), and all
company drivers now claim
to be making safety checks
on their vehicles at least
once a month.
Simon Hill, MD, says "We
believe this is due to more
proactive fleet management
and enforcement by
employers. But, while these
results are encouraging,
there is certainly no room
for complacency; 15% of
company vehicles are still
not safe to be on the road."
Of 2211 private vehicles
surveyed since 2005, more
than a third have been found
to be unroadworthy. More articles from Total Motion Ltd: |
