Health on the buses
September 1st 2009

Integrated power solutions company, Scorpion Power Systems, Portsmouth Football Club and commercial body builders, Qualiti Conversions, have collaborated to introduce two dedicated health and education outreach buses for the Portsmouth community.

Central to the design of the customised buses is a specially adapted generator supplied by Scorpion. The generator had to be robust, large enough to run all vital equipment, yet have low noise levels.

To meet these requirements, Scorpion specified the Mase Voyager 5800 petrol generator. The powerful, compact generator weighs just 158kg but runs at 3000rpm. Measuring 810 x 505 x 420mm, the generator has been installed at the back of the vehicle to use minimum space, and has been adapted to meet airflow and exhaust ducting requirements.
