Vaccinate to beat flu
October 1st 2006

Businesses are being advised by Dr Richard Dawood of The Fleet Street Clinic to seriously consider the option of routinely vaccinating staff against the flu. He says "The best time to be immunised is between September and mid-December. If you leave it until Christmas it's too late.

"The vaccination must be given annually to be effective. By implementing an organisation-wide programme of vaccinations in the autumn, you could potentially reduce flu-related staff absence rates by up to 70%." Dr Dawood's service offers a choice of vaccines and employees can be vaccinated at their place of work on a call-out basis.

Ongoing support and advice is offered and, if required, personal e-mail and text messages can be sent to inform people about the service.
