When refurbishing its production and storage facility, Giles Foods wanted a flooring system that would perform well, look good and meet budget criteria. It also had to allow fast track installation.

Contractor, Flo-Dek UK, applied Ardex R 90 P rake and trowel grade heavy duty polyurethane screed.

In a range of colours, it withstands the stringent hygiene routines that are commonplace in food production facilities.

The company says the installation process is more efficient than a traditional trowel-applied heavy duty polyurethane screed as it is formulated to provide an easily worked system that can be applied using a pin rake and trowel. The cured system forms a tough, easily cleaned, pigmented layer from 4 to 9mm thick, giving a hard wearing, slip resistant resin floor.
