STEAMING AHEAD TO BEAT BACTERIA October 1st 2005 Dimplex Cleaning Systems sees steam as an important part of the overall cleaning process in food storage and preparation areas. With new legislation coming into force in January, the company expects new methods of assuring food hygiene and safety to be considered by industry.
Steam ensures that surfaces are left both clean and sanitised.
Independent laboratory tests have shown that steam at a pressure of 8bar removes 99.98 to 100% of food spoilage bacteria, including Salmonella and Listeria.
Dimplex dry steam cleaning machines range from the SV4000 that produces steam at temperatures to 150°C to the SV15000 that operates at up to 180°C. This 3- phase machine is designed to meet the heavy duty cleaning demands of, for example food and milk processing plants and enables compliance with HACCP. |
