Carlsberg opts for acoustic solution
August 1st 2007

Kimpton Acoustics has helped boost safety for Carlsberg employees at the company's bottling plant in Northampton, following a major acoustics design and installation project.

The plant produces 54 000 bottles of beer per hour and the noise generated by the bottle line production conveyors was having an impact on staff in the area. The company asked Kimpton to come up with solutions that would help manage the noise levels while maintaining the plant's productivity levels.

Bottle line conveyors are characteristically noisy over the distance they travel to the filling station, therefore acoustic canopies were installed to reduce noise levels while ensuring visibility and multiple access points along the full length of the conveyor.

Air-conditioned noise havens are popular in automated plant areas and just such an area was created for use as a shift to the equipment, Kimpton installed acoustic enclosures to the rinser infeed, labeller infeeds and Wraparound infeed.
