Kit has dosimeter & sound level meter May 1st 2009 For workers that are constantly on
the move, noise exposure
assessments are more accurate if
taken with a personally worn noise
dosimeter. Others 'stay put' for the
whole shift, making a handheld
sound level meter more appropriate.
Since most organisations have
workers doing both types of job
profile, Casella CEL has
developed an Occupational
Health and Safety Noise Kit
with both a CEL-620
sound level meter and
a CEL-350 dBadge
noise dosimeter.
The compact, easy to use
CEL-620 colour screen octave band
analyser gives results on a clear
colour-coded display, enabling
measurements ranging from simple
'point and shoot' readings to full
industrial hygiene assessments
without the need for special training.
It can measure up to 140dB without
adjusting its range and measures all
occupational noise parameters
simultaneously without the need to
manually reset.
Small, rugged and reliable, the
CEL-350 dBadge weighs just 68g and
does not need a microphone cable,
making it unobtrusive. It measures
all occupational noise parameters, as
well as the time history of an
individual's noise exposure
throughout the day. The dBadge uses
integral NiMH batteries which give
32 hours of continuous
operation from a 90 minute charge
and has an integral graphic display
for status information and ongoing
interrogation of noise exposure
results.
The Noise Kit comes in a rugged
briefcase, which includes an acoustic
calibrator, windshield, software and
USB download cable. Both
instruments and calibrator have
calibration certificates that
document compliance with the latest
IEC Standards. Class 1 or Class 2
CEL-620 versions are available with
the kit and additional CEL-350
dBadge units can be added
depending on requirements. More articles from Casella Measurement: |
