Measuring equipment passes the tests September 1st 2009 Instrument Solutions, a wholly
owned subsidiary of BSRIA
dedicated to helping organisations
meet the ever more stringent Test
and Measurement requirements of
the Health & Safety Executive, will
be exhibiting at Health and Safety
09 - North.
A major supplier of testing
equipment to the NHS and
especially to health and safety
specialists within the medical
profession, Instrument Solutions
will be showing the most up-todate
equipment in many fields and
especially featuring Sound Signs
from Cirrus, giving warning when a
preset noise level is exceeded and
the TSI 9306 Aerotrak Handheld
Particle Counter used for
monitoring particulate levels in
facilities such as hospital theatres
and laminar flow benches in
pharmacies.
Perhaps most important of all is
the latest equipment for 'fit testing'
on respirators to meets HSE
282/28, a protocol that now applies
as much to the humble fabric face
mask as it does to the full-face,
oxygen-fed state of the art model.
The TSI PortaCount Pro+ tests staff
members in the required seven
different positions, covers all types
of masks including FFP3 masks
worn by hospital workers who have
direct contact with infected patients
and, crucially for the employer,
delivers a 'Pass or Fail' decision that
makes monitoring statistics simple.
The company can give
independent advice on fit testing as
well as hiring out or selling the
equipment needed for a company
to complete its own testing
programme. The tests are relatively
simple and can take as little as
fifteen minutes.
