Alarm centre sets the standard
October 1st 2009

Provider of Lone worker care, Argyll has welcomed the adoption of the new British Standard BS8484 for Lone Working. The new standard redefines Lone Worker device and alarm receiving centre compliance and as an experienced provider of lone worker services, Argyll was regularly consulted during the development in close co-operation with the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and the NHS Security Management Service.

In anticipation of the standard, Argyll has constructed a brand new state-of-the-art BS8484 compliant Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) at its headquarters in Dunoon, Scotland.

The ARC is operational 24 hours a day, everyday and is constructed to comply with the complementary British Standard BS5979 Cat II specification required to obtain police response to lone worker alarms.
