Assured SOS response
February 1st 2007

A joint venture between Orbis Monitoring and Panztel has been introduced to offer an assured response to lone workers who use a time-in-attendance notification package.

Orbis Monitoring will supply a 24/7 emergency response to users of Panztel's eziTracker and LoneWorkerCompanion telephone-based services.

In an emergency, users can contact colleagues as well as the Orbis response centre via any preprogrammed mobile phone or specialist communications device, knowing that an operator will always be there to respond if their managers are unavailable.

Once an alert is raised, operators will access and listen to the lone worker's shift plan, verify their location using LBS, proceed to take the appropriate action and summon the emergency services if necessary.

The seamless joint venture package includes audio recordings of incidents for use as evidence in legal proceedings and documentation of incidents to comply with health and safety requirements.

To encourage better-besafe- than-sorry use, no charges are made for SOS activations. There is just a flat monthly rate, plus costs for set-up and network use.
