BENEFITS FROM ANTI-GLARE FILTER
August 1st 2004

3M Computer Filters says new research explodes the myth that there is no need to use an anti-glare filter with lcd monitors.

Almost two in five of more than 2000 lcd users screened reported having a glare issue or problem. Almost one in 10 reported having either a constant problem with glare or a problem most of the time and 32% of users had occasional glare problems.

Though many computer manufacturers give their screens an anti-glare treatment 3M says its research indicates that it may not be enough.

The companys Executive (EF) anti-glare filters are said to raise monitor performance in stringent iso compliance testing and combat the discomfort and lowered productivity that can result from screen glare.

After using such a filter, four out of five users in the study indicated it was totally (27%) or considerably (51%) effective in reducing headaches and, separately, elimination of eyestrain was reported by 80% of users.
