GPS addition improves lone worker device
December 1st 2008

Connexion2 has added a GPS option to its new Identicom lone worker devices, the i757 and i777, developed specifically for workers constantly on the move and those who operate in remote locations.

With standard Identicoms, users press an amber alert button, notifying their employer that they are entering a potentially hazardous situation. If they press the red alert button, operators at the remote monitoring centre retrieve information on their locality and co-ordinate a response.

Global Positioning System supports this by pinpointing a worker's location to within a few metres and feeding current and last known positions at the same time that an audio escalation is being pursued.
