Integrated alarm and location system
October 1st 2007

Ascom provides integrated alarm and incident location systems, and the launch of its new a71 handset marks the latest development in that expertise.

The a71 is a full spec alarm unit with the added functionality of two way text messaging and location.

Suitable for use in specific lone worker situations or hazardous environments, it is a compact, feature laden design. As with all Ascom personal alarms, it can cocommunicate with other Ascom DECT, IP or WiFi platforms.

The system can generate four types of alarm call: press button, snatch cord, man-down, and no movement.

Alarm calls can be sent to a central control and/or a predetermined group of other handset carriers and off-site via an autodialler.

The handset has two types of incident location devices using IR or RF frequencies. This enables the alarm message to include accurate location information.
