Protecting those alone
December 1st 2005

Sefton Council has bought Connexion2's Identicom system to protect lone workers.

Although the device looks like a standard ID holder, advanced technology is contained unobtrusively within the unit. It includes a lanyard attachment that enables it to be worn around the neck. A rip alarm function is triggered if the unit is forcibly removed.

Sefton's security service monitors the Identicom units from its control room at the Council. If an employee feels threatened, they discreetly push an alarm button that sends a call for help to a monitoring centre.
