Reducing the risk to lone workers
April 1st 2008

The inherent risks and dangers in factories, construction sites and other hazardous locations are well recognised but, says Argyll Telecom, the lone worker has his/her own set of risks.

The company understands the challenges faced by employers of lone workers, from logistics to legislation.

The service it offers is based around matching client needs with a selection of different services and products, delivered through mobile and internet-based technologies.

Tom Morton, MD, explains "Mobile technology, the Internet and GPS technologies combine to provide lone workers with discrete and instant methods of support.

"In our case, these are connected to a continually staffed alarm receiving centre using Argyll's awardwinning software. All related technologies are integrated, enabling an immediate coordinated response with direct links to the police and other local support in extreme circumstances."
