FOR CALL ANSWERING AND EMERGENCY COVER
October 1st 2005

Rhodia’s Isceon refrigerants site in Avonmouth has improved staff usage and night emergency cover since installing Interalia’s XMU+ multi-functional autoattendant and call processing system.

During working hours, the XMU+ answers calls and directs them to the front desk secretary. When the front desk closes, the XMU+ date and time software directs calls to the gatehouse that is manned until 6.00pm. During the evening, a six-option menu is offered to callers, routing calls to shift managers or other manufacturing plants.

The device also provides an emergency option that routes a call to a particular extension and then to a manager’s mobile. If the call is not answered after a period of time, the caller is redirected to a second manager’s phone and then to a site extension. The loop is repeated until the call is answered.

Sold by BT VMS Feature- Net, the system fills a void between passive announcers and expensive voicemail or IVR systems.
