Whether it's giving the thousands of workers at Sellafield early details of an emergency or simply informing them of road traffic problems, Interalia's XMU+ provides a reliable and cost effective means for the British Nuclear group to communicate with its workforce.

Although the system provides auto attendant, ACD announcements, music/marketing-on-hold, interactive audiotext, call processing and basic IVR functions, at Sellafield it is used exclusively for ACD announcements.

Equipped with 61 ports, it enables managers to quickly and easily change announcements, so that employees receive up-todate information.

By using the XMU+ for ACD announcements, Sellafield can also provide its staff with a variety of messages without requiring a dedicated port for each message.

Michael Woolaghan, site shift manager for British Nuclear Group, says "We record a message and within 30 seconds are able to page all staff members to go and listen to it at one of the hundreds of telephones located around the site."
