Pain-free weekends
June 1st 2005

An RSI sufferer has seen his symptoms diminish dramatically since switching to a fully ergonomic keyboard from PCD Maltron.

Nick Allcock contacted Maltron as he was in pain using a conventional flat keyboard at his workplace.

He trialled a Maltron double-handed keyboard with integral trackball at home and realised that some of his symptoms were starting to ease.

After three weeks he noticed a pattern emerging. After a week at work he has tendon and joint pain. Although at the weekend he is typing more, use of the Maltron keyboard results in the pain fading away. A red lump on his right index knuckle shrinks at the weekends and grows back during the week.

Nick was concerned about his typing speed on the Maltron board.

However, he is already up to 80% of his conventional keyboard speed and is getting faster all the time.

He comments “My last misgivings have faded now.

The shape of my Maltron keyboard forces me to touch type properly .”
