Power within the hour
February 1st 2011

Power support company, shentongroup is ensuring that essential services keep functioning at Northern Ireland's Wilson Group Nursing Home' Larne Care Home should a powercut occur with standby power provided by the Powercall, power within the hour service. Wilson Group originally contracted with shentongroup when the home was first opened in 2007 and has since renewed the contract year on year.

Larne Care Home is already fitted with a changeover switch and generator control panel. In the event of a powercut, Powercall's nationwide service can despatch a generator from a local depot with a target of 1-hour delivery time, and a guaranteed maximum of 3 hours. Upon arrival the delivery engineer connects the backup generator and advises the customer to switch the control panel to the emergency power. An indicator lamp is fitted to the changeover switch to advise the customer when the mains power is restored.
