REMOTE MONITORING USING RADIO PAGING
April 1st 2004

Ascom Tele-Nova has developed communications platforms that use radio paging, DECT and PABX infrastructures.

System convergence has been aided by technical advances. In the past, for example, a computer lan or wan and a phone or paging system were seen as two separate communication entities. Ascom Tele-Nova has developed soft and hard-ware solutions that enable direct links between the two.

This is useful when remotely monitoring maintenance or alarm conditions for all sorts of third party machinery and control equipment.

The companys latest DECT systems combine on-site text, data and speech messaging facilities, with the functionality of a cord-less mobile phone.

In many cases they can replace a conventionally hard wired system. They can also co-communicate with different types of paging, speech and alarm units and link via onsite PABX to the public phone system and function as a lone worker personal alarm.
