Get a measure of noise
June 1st 2008

Cirrus Research took the opportunity at this year's Safety & Health Expo to launch a wide range of noise measurement equipment.

Among the new products on display were the latest upgrades to the company's 800C and 260A ranges of noise level meters, together with a new range of Safety Officers measurement kits.

Sophisticated yet easy to operate, the kits are designed to be used by inhouse health and safety officers to measure and record occupational and environmental noise. They are intended to help companies meet their legal obligations with regard to noise safety, without the need to employ external consultants.

Each kit contains a sound level meter and three Cirrus

'doseBadge' personal noise dosemeters. The difference between the five kits in the range is the specification of the sound level meter chosen.

Cirrus also showed its noise level meters, each of which has been upgraded to offer additional functionality and greater value for money.

The 800C and 260A ranges now include data download to a PC via a USB connection, and can take measurements which help to identify suitable hearing protection.
