Simple-to-use noise diagnostic meter
October 1st 2007

Available from Pulsar Instruments, the Assessor is a point-and-shoot noise meter where, in a single measurement, all the data is gathered to demonstrate compliance with regulations.

With just four buttons and a display, it gives the user full data on all the parameters the European Directive and HSE require.

The original Assessor was never intended to be used as a diagnostic tool to determine the choice of personal hearing protection.

The latest version, however, is said to allow even the biggest technophobe to make quick and accurate measurements to select appropriate hearing protection for a wide range of noises in many areas.

The new addition has only one extra button, so remains simple to operate. It uses the HML or High-Medium- Low selection method described in the HSE web site and in many scientific papers.
