Sound advice for food and drink industry
August 1st 2006

Safety solutions supplier Arco is offering businesses in the food and drink industry information and guidance on the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, together with help in the selection of appropriate hearing protective equipment.

Mike Armstrong, Arco's hearing protection product manager, comments "It is vital that in any business where noise is commonplace a thorough risk assessment is carried out and employers comply with the hierarchy of control for dealing with noise exposure to minimise employees' risk of hearing damage.

"The use of adequate hearing defenders is a cost effective but efficient way of reducing exposure to noise when PPE is required.

"However, there are so many types of hearing protective products that it can be daunting to select the right one. Arco's safety experts can offer impartial and practical advice on choosing protective products to suit user preference and different applications."
