Unobtrusive dosimetry
October 1st 2008

Model 22 doseBadge systems from Pulsar Instruments are small, lightweight and robust units that are worn by employees on their shoulder throughout a working shift.

The special shape of the doseBadge and the lack of obvious microphone hide the fact that the device is a noise measurement instrument, reducing the likelihood of tampering or mis-use.

The Model 22 has no display; a pulsing blue LED is all that can be seen (confirming that the unit is measuring).

Pulsar says that employees quickly forget that they are wearing it.

Software is included in each system, allowing measurements to be downloaded and a full day's time history to be analysed. Results a presented in a variety of clear and informative report styles.
