A drugs and alcohol policy at work can help to ensure that drivers of all company vehicles are working safely.

Designed to improve safety, maximise staff retention and minimise lost productivity, Grendonstar offers an approach to drug and alcohol avoidance at work that educates and motivates staff. It says that accidents, lateness and absenteeism can be reduced and productivity and staff morale improved.

Grendonstar assesses the risks associated with drug and alcohol misuse and evaluates resources, cultures and attitudes. Following consultation at all levels, a corporate policy can then be developed and publicised.

A programme of awareness and training is created for all employees, and those with problems are encouraged to seek help. Management training is also provided and, once implemented, the policy can be monitored and procedure amended on Grendonstar's Key Performance Indicators.
