Tag system chosen by fire brigade
June 1st 2006

As part of its new computer-based asset management system, Cleveland Fire Brigade is trialling a new range of Thermal Identification barcoded tags that resist high temperatures and chemicals.

Available from Ritchey-id, the system is being implemented throughout the Brigade's 15 fire stations. Every item of equipment from defibrillators to hydraulic cutting equipment will be identified by a barcoded tag printed on demand by the Brigade using the Windows- based thermal printer.

Designed to identify objects traditionally difficult to identify discreetly, the new Tips tags resist high temperatures, flammability, chemicals and weathering.
