Promoting safe practice October 1st 2006 ASET is a national awarding body specialising in providing, quality assuring and certificating vocational learning programmes which include the ASET Level 2 Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace. The ASET programme has been designed so that the learner can gain an awareness of the legal framework of health and safety in the workplace, as well as the practical measures needed to ensure the health and safety of all. In the workplace, it is said to provide wider benefits to the learner and to the employer in terms of a preventative approach to hazards, promoting a safe practice culture. The qualification is intended for those engaged in general work activities who do not have specific responsibility for health and safety issues. Once training has taken place, the trainee will be fully aware of the legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act, as well as the new fire regulations. The course is available in more than 70 ASET licensed centres throughout the UK. |
