Training for mill team February 1st 2006 Norbord, a producer of engineered wood-based panel products has invested in extensive health and safety training for 76 staff at its South Molton Mill.
The company teamed up with EEF Western, provider of a range of business services in employment law and employee relations, health and safety, and training and people development, to deliver 304 days training to managers, supervisors and safety representatives at the mill.
All staff involved achieved a nationally recognised IOSH qualification in managing safety. Wayne Hovord, general manager at Norbord, says "To free staff from their work to complete the IOSH qualification was a significant investment on our part. However, the rewards in terms of managing risks will ultimately add value to our business." |
