HSE Revamps RSI database December 12th 2005 The HSE has updated and expanded its information on important Court judgements in RSI cases and says it will benefit both itself and legal and health professionals working in the RSI field - as well as trade unions insurers and designers, and those suffering from RSI.
The work related upper limb disorder (WRULD – as occupational RSI is more correctly known) database has free access to users that register on www.humanetechnology.co.uk/registered/intro.php and provides details of judgements including the factors that Courts consider important in reaching their decisions, the degree of care exercised by employers and the amount of damages awarded to claimants.
In 2004/2005 the HSE estimates 375,000 UK employees suffered from a musculoskeletal disorder mainly affecting the upper limbs or neck that was caused or made worse by their current or past work. More articles from HSM News Desk: |
