AA protection from GORE-TEX®
October 9th 2005

Bell Apparel’s FLEXIBell with GORE-TEX® fabric is keeping the AA’s 3000-strong patrol warm, dry, visible and comfortable – whatever the elements decide to do.

Waterproof and easy to keep clean, the uniform’s FLEXIBell system is in two parts: an outer and an inner layer, with the inner layer made from high performance GORE-TEX® liner.

Simon Lubacz from Gore explains: “A comfortable climate inside the jacket is ensured because moisture vapour from perspiration escapes through the liner and passes through the outer shell.

“If it gets trapped inside clothing it means that the garment is not cooling the person and a sauna effect is created. It condenses and causes dampness and discomfort.” The GORE-TEX® liner is waterproof, windproof and breathable.

The outer layer of the system attaches and detaches easily to the inner layer. The outer layer withstands cleaning at high temperatures to maintain EN471 conformity and a smart appearance.
