BSIF says ‘hear hear’ to Hagemeyer
October 9th 2005 The Hagemeyer-supplied Sonomax hearing protection system, SonoCustom, won the 2005 BSIF Product Innovation Award.
Launched at the Safety & Health Expo, the system has acoustic filters that eliminate dangerous noise while allowing the user to hear voice communications. Because each system is custom fitted to the wearer (and adapted by software) to a safe noise exposure level for the employee and their environment.
Because it’s custom fitted, and therefore as comfortable as possible, SonoCustom reduces the chance that wearers will remove their hearing protection – as they do with other products when they start to cause discomfort.
Because it lasts for three years, the Sonomax system also reduces plug waste compared to disposables. Cost savings versus foam earplugs can also be demonstrated, according to Hagemeyer.
