Checkmate and Certex get Corus steel of approval
August 15th 2006

When Corus UK approached Certex UK for advice on keeping maintenance teams protected working at height, Certex brought in its national supplier of height safety products Checkmate for professional advice.

After an initial site survey Certex and Checkmate were able to offer a safe, functional and cost effective solution. Using the latest 3D cad software Checkmate’s in house design team presented 3D drawings of the planned installation of lifelines.

Divisional Manager for Checkmate Safety, Oliver Auston said: “This is a fantastic example of our collective ability to listen, absorb and execute to our clients' exacting and bespoke requirements with professionalism. We are proud to be one of the UK’s only manufacturers of height safety equipment that is designed, tested and produced all under one roof in the UK."

The specified product 'CheckLine' is a technologically advanced permanent lifeline system that offers the user greater freedom of movement and increased safety when working on inclined surfaces. The system significantly reduces peak loadings on the user and extremity anchors.

Checkmate also manufactures a comprehensive range of height safety equipment including, harnesses, lanyards, fall arrest blocks, rescue winches, tripods, davits, temporary and permanent lifelines, eyebolts and rescue kits.
