It's official: Safety Learning's a bit Special
December 12th 2006

Safety Media's E-Learning system, Safety Learning, has achieved a Special Mention at the 2006 e-learning awards organised by E-Learning Age. Safety Learning was a finalist in the ‘Most innovative new product in e-learning’ category, impressing judges with its ability to make health and safety training both fun and memorable.

They were also impressed that the system could be used to train staff both with and without frequent access to a computer.

What is Safety Learning?

Safety Learning is a blended solution designed to give high quality, cost effective and engaging health and safety training to all employees within an organisation.

The software combines conventional E-Learning with reporting, auditing and tracking features with group training. Using interactive handsets, the trainees are asked questions throughout the session, which are answered using their handset. According to Safety Media, it adds a completely new dimension to classroom training: Employees benefit from the high level of interactivity and through being in a group environment, enabling discussions on issues which are raised within the modules.

The system currently covers 16 training modules:

• Manual Handling

• Computer Safety (DSE)

• Bomb Evacuation

• COSHH

• Driving Safely

• Health & Safety Induction

• Office Safety

• Stress in the Workplace

• Environmental Awareness

• First Aid

• Fire Safety

• Food Safety

• Health & Safety for Managers

• Office Risk Assessment

• Risk Assessment

• Working at Heights

The system can be installed on the company’s own intranet or via the internet and fully hosted by Safety Media.
