Stylish super grip safety footwear
June 8th 2006 Bacou Footwear says its Silver Link range combines innovative safety features with stylish design.Key to the Silver Link boot is a specially designed high grip sole, that gives high stability on virtually any surface, preventing the slips and trips that cause some of the most common foot and ankle injuries at work.
The Triaxe Evolution sole is made up of three integrated areas designed to give superb grip and wearer comfort on a range of different surfaces. The Impact & Grip Area on the heel gives shock and vibration absorption, while the ridged Stability Area grips on irregular or unstable surfaces. The central Traction Area grips on hard, smooth or slippery surfaces.
The ridged design of the Stability Area is self-cleaning. The stud surface means fluids like oil and water as well as mud drain off the sole quickly so the Silver Link continues to grip whatever the ground conditions. It is also resistant to low concentration acids and chemicals, protecting the wearer against spillages.
Silver Link uses the latest materials to minimise weight without compromising on toughness or wearer safety and comfort. The Evolution sole is made from ultra-light PU/Nitril for excellent grip and puncture resistance but still giving flexible, free movement of the foot.
It has a lightweight composite, non-magnetic Spacium toecap instead of the traditional metal one and non-metallic Flexium (Kevlar) protective midsole to reduce weight. The Spacium toecap also improves comfort, as it is an excellent thermal insulator helping to keep the feet cool over a long shift, according to Bacou.
Traditional workboots can be hot and uncomfortable to wear for long periods. Silver Link has a quick-drying breathable lining to keep feet cool and a removable, anti-bacterial insole to help maintain freshness throughout the day. The Silver Link’s ankle collar and padded tongue have also been specially designed to provide extra support, protection against knocks and to improve overall wearer comfort.
According to Bacou, the boots are practical on the factory floor but stylish enough for the pub! Silver Link comes in two popular designs – a Derby style ankle boot and a Derby style shoe. Both are made in a fashionable black, full-grain leather that is water resistant. A comprehensive size range of 5-13 (UK sizes) ensures a good fit for all wearers.
