HSE Noise and Vibration roadshows throughout June
May 5th 2006

The HSE and manufacturers organisation, the EEF, are running four roadshows on Noise and Vibration that they claim will provide ‘no nonsense’ advice for employers relating to the recent changes in EU regulations.

According to the HSE over 1.1 million UK workers are at risk from high levels of noise, and about 1.7 million from Hand Arm Vibration (HAV). New regulations for the control of risks from vibration at work came into force last July while the new noise laws kicked in last month.

Aimed at all who manage risk at work, including managing directors, production managers, health and safety advisors and safety representatives, those who attend will hear what the new regulations mean in practice, gain insight into practical risk management, including solutions and what they need to do to arrange effective health surveillance for exposed employees.

“The roadshows will show that the regulations are not complex or difficult to comply with and are, in fact, quite straightforward and workable,” says HSE noise and vibration programme manager, Robert Vaughan.
