New government director of Occupational Health May 5th 2006 The department of Work Pensions and Health has appointed Professor Dame Carol Black as new national director of occupational health – much to the delight of IOSH.
“A strong and committed leader is essential to the success of the government’s initiatives to improve occupational health – this is exactly what we have got with Dame Carol,” said IOSH president, Neil Budworth. “Her position across the departments of Work Pensions and Health will ensure that the links between these areas are recognised – especially relevant to the government’s Health, Work and Well Being strategy, which focuses on the needs of the working age population and aims to prevent ill health and promote rehabilitation.” More articles from IOSH: |
