Torch achieves mission impossible
May 5th 2006

Wolf claims its latest rechargeable torches have achieved the impossible, combining lightweight design with high power output.

With impeccable box office timing, the R&D team’s accomplishment is now available in two models: the 300 gram R30 and the sub 400 gram R50.

According to Wolf, the LEDs have efficiency levels exceeding that of the best tungsten halogen lamps, which makes the most of the high capacity Lithium-ion rechargeable cells.

At five metres the R30 provides peak luminous intensity of 340 lux, the R50 model 360 lux. On full power light duration is three hours, or six hours on half power. An 85% recharge takes 90 minutes in a charger configured as a torch holder.
